Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced, and certified Home Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic, as well as a comprehensive understanding of residential building systems and components. As a Home Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of residential properties, identifying issues, and providing clients with comprehensive reports on the condition of the property.
Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed and thorough inspections of residential properties, including but not limited to, the structural components, mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, roofing, and overall condition of the property.
- Identify and document any defects or potential issues in accordance with industry standards and applicable regulations.
- Prepare and deliver clear, concise, and comprehensive inspection reports to clients, including photographs, descriptions of issues, and recommendations for repairs or improvements.
- Communicate findings effectively to clients, both verbally and in writing, in a professional and unbiased manner.
- Maintain current knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and best practices related to home inspections.
- Manage scheduling, appointments, and follow-up communication with clients and real estate professionals.
- Ensure all inspection tools, equipment, and vehicles are well-maintained and in proper working order.
- Maintain appropriate professional certifications and licenses, and participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in construction, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Current home inspector certification/license in the state of operation, or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to clients in an understandable manner.
- Proficient in using inspection tools, equipment, and software.
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Membership in a professional home inspector association.
- Experience with infrared thermography, mold assessment, or other specialized inspection services.
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
- Bilingual language skills.
