FAQs
A home inspection is an examination of the condition of a home, typically performed by a professional home inspector. Home inspections are usually conducted during the home–buying process and can be extremely helpful in identifying potential problems with a home before purchase. Linkhorn Home Inspections is the best Columbus home inspector, and we highly recommend that all potential home–buyers schedule a home inspection with us before making a purchase.
A standard home inspection from Linkhorn Home Inspections includes a thorough examination of the home’s exterior, including the roof, gutters, downspouts, siding, windows, doors, and foundation. We also inspect the home’s interior, including the walls, ceilings, floors, windows, doors, stairs, and any visible insulation. We check the home’s HVAC system, electrical system, and plumbing system. We also operate all of the home’s major appliances.
At Linkhorn Home Inspections, we have seen a variety of common issues during home inspections. Some of the most common issues include:
- Foundation problems
- Roofing issues
- Problems with the electrical system
- Plumbing issues
- Pest infestations
If your inspector finds problems, they will notify you and provide a report of the findings. Depending on the severity of the issue, they may recommend further action be taken.
Home inspections are paid for by the party ordering the inspection. In most cases, this will be the potential buyer of a home. However, there are other occasions when someone else may order a home inspection, such as when a home is being sold by owner or when a homeowner is considering making significant changes to their property.
